Must be at least 20 years old (and at least 21 years old at time of police academy graduation.)

Must have a high school diploma or GED.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Must live within Lancaster County and any contiguous county (Berks, Chester, Dauphin, Lebanon, and York) within Pennsylvania; or willing to relocate within six (6) months of hire.

Must pass a drug screening and an extensive background check.

Your application is not complete until you certify the Personal History Questionnaire. You must complete the Civil Service Board Point Survey, the Release of Information Waiver, the Credit Waiver, and the Separation Waiver. These documents can be found in the Guardian portal.
